Prospective Marriage Visa
This subclass 300 visa allows you to come to Australia to marry your prospective spouse within nine months after the visa is granted. You can apply for the partner visa after the marriage and before your prospective visa expires.
Eligibility
You must:
- be at least 18 of age
- be sponsored by your prospective spouse
- intend to marry your prospective spouse
- have met and know your prospective spouse
- meet the character and health requirement
Partner Visa
This partner visa allows the spouse or de facto partner (same-sex partner) of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia. Obtaining a permanent partner visa is a two-stage process where you apply for both a temporary and permanent visa at the same time. It can be lodged both in or outside of Australia.
Eligibility
You must be married or in a De facto relationship with:
- an Australian citizen
- an Australian permanent resident
- an eligible New Zealand citizen
- You marriage must be valid under Australian law
- You must have been in a de facto relationship for at least 12 months
Parent Visa
This parent visa lets parents of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia permanently.
Contributory Parent Visa (onshore/offshore) is faster processing time but more expensive than the standard Aged Parent Visa.
This parent visa can be applied both within and outside of Australia.
Eligibility
You must:
- have a child who is a settled Australian ciziten, permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen
- meet the Family Balance Test: at least half of your children must in Australia or more of your children live in Australia than any other country
- be sponsored
- the sponsor must be at least 18 years of age
- be able to obtain an Assurance of Support
- meet health and character requirements
